In this folklore (not Islamic doctrine), an astrologer may be viewed as someone who:

• Uses birth charts and planetary timing to identify vulnerable periods in a person’s life.

• Aligns harmful intentions with malefic planetary movements (e.g., Mars-Saturn conjunctions, eclipses, or retrogrades).

• Offers guidance on performing secret rituals during dark moon phases or astrologically “cursed” hours.

Such ideas exist outside of accepted religious belief and circulate only in covert, marginalized social spaces.

2. Association with Jinn and Traditional Spirit Beliefs

In parts of Saudi folklore:

• Harmful astrology and magic are associated with jinn—supernatural beings from Islamic tradition.

• People who believe in spiritual attacks sometimes consult astrologers (illegally and secretly) to “send jinn” or manipulate spiritual forces.

Astrologers involved in such beliefs are thought to invoke jinn through star-based rituals, though this is strongly condemned in Islam.

3. Symbolic Tools in Underground Practice

Though astrology itself is prohibited, certain underground beliefs attribute the following practices to occult astrology:

• Drawing planetary charts to mark “death windows” or vulnerable dates.

• Using numerology and abjad values (Arabic letter values) to create “codes” for destructive spells.

• Mixing astrology with local sorcery tools—such as hair, nails, or dolls (similar to other folk traditions globally).

These are all unofficial, illegal practices and are never endorsed in any formal capacity.
